It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

After three great Thanksgiving celebrations, we were excited to get our Christmas stuff out! (Especially because our close friends have had their house decorated since mid-November! We were feelin' the pressure!) Take a look at how we prep our house for this festive season!

We made a gingerbread house...
Can you see it? It totally adds to the atmosphere.
Did you spot Elmer the Elf? He reports nightly to Santa!
My home wouldn't feel right without a Christmas book display!
Jeff's handiwork
Logan was in charge of placing the candy canes on the tree. Love it!

Thanksgiving Accessories...

At preschool the class had a feast. Look at all of these handmade accessories Logan came home with. He would not take his headband off. We had an early Thanksgiving dinner with my family on Saturday and the Goddard's on Sunday. Logan skipped around our house singing "Yay for Turkey Day! It's Turkey Day! Hooray!"

Loganisms:

Jeff went to get a dental implant and wasn't home one morning when Logan woke up.
L: Where's dad?
M: He went to get a new tooth.
L: Is Dad getting a golden tooth?
M: No, just a tooth.
L: I hope it's a golden tooth.

Logan and I were discussing something, and he was looking at me very strangely.
M: Did you understand what I said or was it confusing?
L: What's fusing?

Logan and Bright were playing around...
L: (YELLING) AHHHH! NO BRIGHTON! WE ARE PLAYING AND HAVING FUN!!! NO CRYING! THIS IS FUN!

L: Mom, can I play with my friends today?
M: Well, that depends bud.
L: I don't have any pens mom.

M: What's on TV?
L: I'm watching a Bunch of Brady's.
(aka The Brady Bunch)

We were talking about actions that are nice and actions that are naughty...
M: Is cleaning up your room naughty or nice?
L: Nice
M: Is hitting your sister naughty or nice?
L: Not nice.
L: And it's really not even nice to chop people's legs off.

L: Yay!! It's Hamily Home Hevening time!

Bedhead...

Nobody ever believes me when I say that Brighton wakes up with some crazy hair. Well here's the proof...this was after a 90 minute nap!

My Funny Kids

Just cuz...my kids are funny!

Logan was rockin' his watch. When I asked him what time it was, he said "90:43"

18 Reasons We Love This 18 Month Old

Brighton turned 18 months old at the beginning of this month. Everybody keeps telling me she doesn't look like a baby anymore! She looks like a little girl! So in a loving tribute to our toddler, here are the 18 reasons we love this "spirited" lady.

1. Those big brown expressive eyes.

2. The way her smile lights up her whole face.

3. Her independence. She will go anywhere and do anything...especially if you tell her not to. (Where does she get that?) And trying to get her to do something she doesn't want to do, like eat dinner...well let's just say she has barfed more than once when we try to make her eat.

4. We love Brigthon's crazy morning hair! All that straight hair sticking up all over!

5. She YELLS "MOM! MOM!" I say "What Brighty?" She just smiles and says "Hi."

6. She loves to put on Logan's shoes and wear them around the house. His Nikes are her favorite.

7. She is obsessed with the fluffy dandelions. She will spend an eternity picking every stem in sight.

8. She loves to draw and color...and with no discrimination. She'll write on anything!

9. I love how she says "You-Who!"

10. She's totally getting into books. She brings me stories to read to her all of the time.

11. When she wants to sit on your lap, she gets a head start and then backs all the way in.

12. She has such good hygiene. She loves to brush her teeth, (aka suck all the toothpaste off her brush), and is always trying to climb into the bathtub...even with her clothes on.

13. The girl is fearless. She'll climb anything, slide down anything, do anything to keep up with Logan.

14. Every letter she sees she points and says "A". On signs, in books, on TV, all letters are "A".

15.Brighton has the best laugh! Nobody makes her laugh like Logan does.

16. The picture above is showing us what she does when we ask "Brighty, where does you sucker go?"

17. She is just quirky and full of spunk.

18. Even after a rough day, I am so excited to see her every morning. I can't wait to go in to her room and see that beaming face grinning at me.
